Scania Power, Logg Truckin' Finnish style!

Here's short video clip I took while was logg trucking with my friend the other day. Truck is Scania 164 and has 16 -liter Scania V8 engine tuned up and dynotested putting out 750hp. Up hill he's puliing up to doesn't seem much on the clip but he has dual wheel spike chains on on all rear wheels, all full lockers on at rears and still pulling up hardly on 2nd gear.

Turn the volume all the way up and enjoy!!!

Here's couple cool shots from summer 2011 when we were doin' Smokey and the Bandit theme photoshoot. Thanks for Nordkalk, Louhi letin' us do the shoot at their property.

We are working with interior at the moment. Custom CNC-milled pedals are all finished, clutch pedal arm is polished to mirror shine, stainless steel steering column cover is custom hand made and trailer brake handle and turn signal switch are painted to macth the interior color. Steering wheel is taken off for full restoration and it will have custom made billet aluminum horn button. Both seats will be reupholstered and new door panels are on list too.

Chevrolet '38 Limousine Flame job!

I painted this Chevrolet 1938 Limousine as a side project to one friend of mine. Paintjob was done in my friend's garage, so the conditions for doin' paintjob were not the best ones, but in the end it came out pretty cool. I sprayed on flat black color inside and out over whole car. Then I layed on classic flame design using Fineline masking tape. I chose lime metallic green pearl color for the flames to match the nice green tuck'n'roll interior this car has. Flame-design was toped with clear coat to get nice contrast between flat black and green flames.

As finishing touch flames will be outlined with pinstriping after we decide color we want on them.

Volvo F16 Intercooler!

Here's some progress pictures from our Volvo F16 project for Dovelana Oy. All custom and stainless work are by Silicone Express. More custom work will fallow and some murals will be painted on at rear sides of the truck .

Project Volvo F16!

Volvo F16 came to us after new logging gear was bolted on and chassis was painted.
We started from fabricarting custom all stainless exhaust stack with in-built muffler in it. Front mudflaps were put on as stainless light panel under the front bumper as well.

All original emblems were painted to match in our shop.

We did retro style paintjob and graphic design for the F16 and actual paintjob was done by Autoehoste Kaskinen Oy.

Project truck is all original Volvo F16 Intercooler '88 with 470hp engine. Truck is been build for one of our customers for his needs. This truck will be put back on the road and it will earn its keep hauling loggs full time around Eastern Finland.

This 359 EXHD '84 Peterbilt have just arrived to Finland. It's one of the few 359's I've ever seen with out exterior air filters.

In Big Wheels 2011 there were total of 12 US-trucks which is new record in Finland at one show. There were total of over 800 vehicles and 12 000 visitors in the show during one day.

We had small US-truck meet when thise guys dropped by to visit me the other day. Rare sight to see here in Finland three nice looking US-trucks parked at the same parkinglot.

This Peterbilt 379 '87 with CAT3406C and 13sp Fuller is the first 379 ever registered to Finland. Concratulations to Markus. Truck can be spotted mostly around Mid-Finland.

Here's quick shot from yesterday when took Silicone Express II to annual DOT-inspection. Inspection went good and with out any problems at all. Truck is alittle dirty cause haven't had time to get her washed down and polished up yet.

Down bellow is listed shows I have planned to do for this season. Please note it's only a plan and there might be some changes done to schedule, if needed from any reason.

Anyways, don't hesitate to come over to chat a few words!

Ohessa pikakuva eiliseltä katsastusreissulta. Katsastus sujui loistavasti ilman huomautettavaa, ja nyt on tuoreleima papereissa. Kenworth on vielä hieman talven pölyjen peitossa, kun en ole ehtinyt vielä pestä ja kiilloittaa talven jäljiltä.

KW W900B Rekisteröity / DOT Inspection done!

Kilvet tuli!!! Tänään rekisteröintikatsastettiin tuoreeltaan reilu viikko sitten maahantullut jenkkirekka, Kenworth W900B. Auto on järjestyksessään 9 jonka olemme rekisteröintikatsastaneet Suomeen, jälleen ongelmitta. Onnea Tomille!

Paikalle saapui myös toinen Kenworth, W900A '78, jonka maahantoimme ja rekisteröimme 2010. Marko on tehnyt talven aikana autoon paljon parannuksia, hyvältä näyttää!

We got freshly Finland imported Kenworth W900B DOT inspected today! Truck is 9th US-truck we have got DOT proved on the road to Finland.

Owner of the black W900A '78 also dropped by with his great looking ride. This truck was imported and DOT inspected by us at 2010. Since that Marko has done alot of custom work to it and truck looks awesome. Good work Marko!!!

W900A Fiberglass Headliner!

Here's few pictures from new custom made fiberglass headliner I made for Silicone Express II. I got help from my good friend Marko Seppänen with fiberglass work and wanna thank him from great work he did with it. Basic shape of the headliner reminds alot of the original one, but from closer look there's various changes done to it to get more clean custom look. I personally like the out come alot.

I also hand made mirror shine stainless cover pieces above the windshield and both windshield posts. Placed red LED-lights on the headliner and added small chrome naked ladies to speaker covers.

Interior will have few more tricks to come so stay tuned!!!

We have just imported one US-truck more to Finland. At the moment truck is being prepaired for DOT-inspection done withing next few days. Truck can be seen mostly at Kouvola area in Finland.

Here's few sneak pictures from my friend Marko Seppänen's A-model project he's working with. Truck is '79 W900A Kenworth. Truck arrived from Ohio, USA June 2010 to Finland. Marko has done alot of custom touches to it since and he ain't even close to done yet.

Polished Truck Alternator!

Here's the alternator before.

Same alternator after hand polishing and redone brackets.

Also cables to alternator were redone.

Truck has 160amp 12V Delco alternator. I took the whole alternator down to pieces and checked all the parts before hand polishing the core. From inside alternator was like brand new, so only part I needed to change to new was front bearing cause it had minor unwanted noise in it.

Not only the core was handpolished, but also the fanplate went trough the polishing. Alternator brackets were redone also as well as the cables too to get nice show quality look overal.

Fuel Tank Center Panel and Trans Am Update!

Filler panel between fuel tanks is fabricated and mount on. Panel is fabricated out of mirror shine stainless steel and has two LED-lights in it. LED-lights has small custom touch on them by placing small chrome bullets at center of them as other rear lights has as well.

Alittle progress with engine detail work as well. New stainless steel turbo exhaust C-clamp was hand polished and put on.

Trans Am sheet metal work done and bodywork started. Paintbrush artist Ville Lopponen showing his skills on bodywork.

Before aplying bodyfiller all weld seems were grinded smooth carefully and gone through with epoxy-primer to avoid any corrosion under bodyfiller.

Pinstripes inside front fenders!

Just random shot from the Silicone Express II hood tilted.

Added some custom touch inside the front fenders with simple pinstripes. Because of the uneven surface painting pinstripes were more than very difficult job.

I know She ain't perfect yet but getting there detail by detail. I will continue working on with the truck untill she is perfect all over one day.

Trans Am Silicone Edition progress Pictures!

First rust spot fixed. As can be seen we try to do very accurate work with sheetmetal repairs to minimize bodywork needed later on.

Driver's side after sandplasting.

In this picture you can see the rust hole on rear corner next to tail light opening before it was repaired by welding (see picture further above).

Who ever made the sheetmetal work before wasn't no professional for sure. All this will be repaired like new before starting bodywork for paint.

All suspected rust spots were sandplasted by professional shop.

As suspected before sandplasting there was several issues found on body panels under thick coat of bodyfiller during sandplasting. All trouble spots will be redone and sheetmetal issues will be fixed before starting bodywork for paint. More update pictures will fallow soon.

More Details on W900A EXHD!

More detail work done to W900A EXHD. Sorry crappy picture quality, but had only my cellphone-camera with me. I have started working on with insides of the front fenders. All mounting hardware used are hand polished decorative stainless bolts, nuts and washers only. Work is still in progress and more details like pinstripes will be add soon. So stay tuned!!!

Also Trans Am project have had some progress. At the moment it's at sandplasting.

Kenworth W900A EXHD Detail Work!

Here's pic from custom self made door kick panles fabricated out of mirror shine stainless.

Here's one progress pic from the Trans Am as well. Whole interior has been taken apart already and new design of the interior is done. Hopefully we get on it in next couple weeks. Final design of the looks is also getting together and we are gathering up parts for it.

Here's good quality close-up shot from the final design of the fuel filler caps. All custom designed and made by us for this project only.

Engine detail work have had some progress as well. Notice the pinstripes on fan-tunnel and shocks. Also alternator brackets are taken off for custom finishing touch. Back side of the front bumper is wrapped inside mirror shine stainless.

Here's a sneak peak shot from new project I got with my brother and dad. We bought this Pontiac Trans Am '78 as for small side project. "We do it for the money, for the glory and for the fun, but mostly for the... fun" =). Plan is to transform it to Silicone Edition version from legendary "Bandit Trans Am" cause we needed to get blocker car for the Silicone Express II!

Here's few quick cellphone pictures (sorry bad quality) from new custom touch of the fuel filler caps I added. Also have changed all rear lights to LED's and made personal custom look by adding small chromed bullets on the center of each light. Center light panel is also custom handmade out of stainless steel and hand polished to mirror shine.

Silicone Express II rewieled for public!

After lot of problems during the built of Silicone Express II it was finally rewieled for public first time at Big Wheels US-car meet at Pieksämäki, Finland 16th - 18th of July. As you can see there's still some work to do on it, but in the end I'm very happy the outcome and now after total rebult she drives and rides like true Cadillac.

Kenworth W900A EXHD For Sale!!!

Yes, it is my truck! I have come to the point I have desited to sell it. I have had way too many issues while building it and it have gotten me in financial problems as well as family problems, so I have desited to let her go. I have done my best with it but couldn't pull it through, so it's time to admit I couldn't do the job I started.

The truck is almost like new from bumper to bumper and to list everything done to it would take me few days, so please call and ask about the details. BUT serious enquiries ONLY!!! I'm too tired for bulshit.

Jep, projekti on myynnissä!!! Olen kohdannut kuluneen rakenteluvuoden aikan niin paljon vastoinkäymisiä ja ongelmia että nyt on mitta täysi. Projekti on vienyt rahat ja tuhonnut melkein perheen, joten on aika laittaa asiat tärkeysjärjestykseen. On siis aika myöntää ettei yhden miehen resurssit riitä rakentaa kokonaista kuorma-autoa vajaassa vuodessa Yritys oli hyvä, mutta ei onnistunut.

Autossa on lähes kaikki uutta puskirista puskuriin, ja se on viimesilausta vaille vamis. Auto ON suomen rekisterissä ja siinä on voimassa oleva katsastus. Se on ajokunnossa. Kesken on kojetaulun sähköjen siistintä ja pakoputkistosta puuttuu pätkä turbolta, sekä pieniä viimeistelyhommia siellä ja täällä. Autossa on enemmän uutta kuin vanhaa joten en lähde listaamaan kaikkea tässä. Vakavasti ostoaikeissa olevat soittakaa niin kerron kaiken autosta. Turhan kysyjät älkää koetelko hermojani enää enempää!!!

Progress with Silicone Express II!!!

Just few random shots down the road of project. Basicly every single bolt and nut has been off from the frame, most of the old airlines are replased new plastic ones and electricals on frame has been gone through. You could say there's not many things or places on the truck that hasn't been replaced or rebuilt. At the moment I'm doing the assemply and final custom pieces.

This very sharp looking KW W900B '84 was registraded road legal to Finland earlier this week (24th of April) with our help. Another very happy customer of ours. Truck is located at Tampere area. Truck is powered by Cummins 400 BC and it has 13sp O/D Fuller transmission.

Tämä komea Kenworth W900B rekisteröitiin suomen kilpiin kuluneella viikolla (24.4.) meidän avustuksellamme. Auton omistaja oli oikein tyytyväinen saamaansa palveluun. Sleeper has been taken off and both transmissions will be taken out for total reseal and check out. Also engine carnk rear seal will be replaced as well as engine block and flywheelhousing gasket.

At front of the sleeper are is all stainless custom made new exhaustsystem waiting to be polished out.

Wheelbase Extended!!!

Truck was leveled exactly straight carefully before cut.

Extra length was welded in the middle. We used original KW frame rail pieces to make perfect fit and to be sure frame rail material being exactly same.

Inside of the frame rails and new inserts we fabricated were cleaned and sanded carefully. Then they were triple painted with the best epoxypaint available. Before bolting inserts in I sprayed on special anticorrosion material to both mounting surfaces (inserts and inside the rails).

Project is getting visible progress slowly but steady. I'm working on the project every single day. Idea is get something done each day no matter if only small airline bracket or bigger piece, main thing is something is done daily. Newiest addition to project is longer wheelbase. New WB is 282 inches (measured to middle of the rear ales)!!! Everything for the extension job was done in-house with help of my good friend Harri Hulkkonen and my dad Martti "Myrä" Löppönen. Even the new drivesaft is self made! Thank to Mr. Jyrki Järvinen from the pieces of frame rails.

Some details about the extension job. We studiet all the information we could before the job.We were really precise with measures and everyhting we did. All measures were made to perfect before welding and were checked all the time during welding and after. To strengthten the extension points on rails we used very long sleeves made out from 6mm (1/4'') thick steel with compression fit inside the frame rails. Sleeves are bolted in with 14mm special frame flange bolts. Extra crossmember was add and both weldpoints are supported by crossmembers.

Some update finally!

Finally some visible progress with my new project. It doesn't meen I haven't done anything till now. NO, I just have done prepairin' work and testing new ideas. Final design is starting to be clear in my head now. Also lotta of stainless steel parts have been custom made and even more are under fabrication at the moment. I'm trying to take this project even higher level than I did with the earlier (K100C).

Some delay have caused because of lot of fixing needed to old pits and pieces here and there. It's good to remember this baby have earned it's pay on the road over 30 years. Restoring and custom building old truck is way different and more challenging job than it is with brand new one. Most of the parts are no longer available and need to be fabricated specially or located good used ones.

Side project II!

Just out from the ''paintshop''. Lookin' good with fresh clear coat on!

Like two cherrys, ol'girl and her baby-sis'.

Ready for clear coating. Everything was done in-house, meening we did even the clear coating by our selves.

Time to open the X-mas present (take the masking off).

Safety first!!! This constraction rack is proved by national safety board and has CE sign on it ;).

Masking done. Took well over 20h to do it.

Real fabricators newer run out of ideas. This grill was invented and fabricated in 5min by Rebel while I was the chef. Man it tasted good. By the way it's 06.30 a.m.

The gang: Lande one of the owners of the truckin' company, me(Silicone) and the go-painter Juuso ''the Rebel''. As you can see we kept good care of the paint thinner... wonder why... =).

Here's few pictures from cool side project I did with buddy of mine, Juuso ''the Rebel'' some time ago. We did everything for this paintjob by our selves. The facilities we used were not the greatest. It was old warehouse, so it took awhile to get the truck fitted inside first. The whole paintjob took us from friday morning till monday morning. We kept on goin' all day and night with only 3h of sleep every night. Thanks for good outlaw country music like C.W. McCall, HankIII, Shooter Jennings, Johnny Cash, David Allan Coe, Dale Watson and Schott H. Biram to make it happen! ...maybe few bears too...

Sharp W900B from Germany!

This really sharp lookin' and totally restored Kenworth W900B comes from Germany. The whole rebuilt was done by the proud owner Frank. This clean W900B is 1985 years model and has CAT 3406B 400hp, 15sp gear box, 4.11 rears and 22,5 tall rubber.

Started cleaning up the interior. After I had used five buckets of soapy water for cleaning I ended up tearing the seats and carpet out. New (temporary) carpet will be put on later this week. This will be only temporary quick touch up for interior before whole redol in near future.

Interior like it was. Missing big pieces from carpet, dirt all over... huge mess.

Fresh tags on. I got my W900A exhd registered road legal day before did this Peterbilt 359 '81. Peterbilt has CAT 3406A and 13 speed in it.

First custom work done. Put on new buggler emblem on the hood front hub caps, spike nut covers and new white front mudflaps.

Outside of the port heading home bound.

Picked up the truck from port of Kotka with my son and lil'bro. Put stacks on and ready to roll!

New project truck have been bought and picked up from it's previous owner. Truck is original factory KW W900A Extended Hood 1978 with 5+4 transmissions and 8 bag air ride. Powered by Cat 3406B.

Special super big thank's to Don Ridzon Jr. for helping me make my dream come true! With out Don this would have never been possible!

Mean and lean Machine!

This cool looking Peterbilt 379 belongs to my good buddy, Don R. jr. from Ohio. It's '92 model and powered with beefed up 60 series Detroit putting out over 550hp's. Don is in the middle of bunk swap and new bunk will be repainted soon. Don have done all the custom work including extending the frame by him self. He's pulling '08 model drop deck trailer. The trailer is equiped with flip axle for heavy loads. Really nice work Don!!! And keep us posted with the progress!

Few new projects!

Flame design layed on and waiting the first layer of paint to be sprayed.
Painted interior panels are placed in. Note the headliner made out of fiberclass and painted to mach the exterior with flame design. Still some work will be done to the interior, like fiberclass door panels for excample.

The engine bay id made to fit the other features of the car. Good work Harry!

Ice Cold as Finnish winter!

Me painting stripes to the Freightliner.

Custom hand made Stainless panels are test fitted before frame sandplasting and painting to black.

This was how the Freight Shaker looked like when I started workin' with it.

Rear wiev before I started with it.

After new stripes and fresh paint on the frame. The grille is wrapped inside stainless, emblems are custom painted, engine turned s.s. rear fenders, new plate hanger under front bumber and all new roof and side marker lights, new custom built straight 5'5" stainless stacks and meny other features were made. Truck still has lotta to do. Next fuel tanks will be polished.

Here's few pictures from two projects I've been workin' with lately. At Tuner Car project my share has been laying on the flame graphics inside out to the car. Also have helped the owner Harry H. with few smaller details. Other than that the owner have made almost all by him self
including fiberglass bumbers and stainless pieces.

Freightliner FLT '85 is powered with CAT 3406B 400hp, but the engine has been tuned up quite a bit by all the black smoke and great pull it puts out. Transmission is 13 speed O/D Fuller and rear gears 3,73 Rockwells. Tires are very high 12R22,5's for constraction use. It has 20 metric ton roll-off body installed in Finland. Truck will be workin truck all year round and is based around Imatra area.

Loadin' river stone with Lee to Ottawa. Gross weight loaded 57 000kg and haulin' ass 120km/h! Gotta say this Western Star Low Max rides smooth and strong.

Rodeo du Camion Truck Rodeo 2008!

Rodeo du Camion Truck Rodeo 2008 was held 28th time in a row this year at Nodre-Dame-Du-Nord, Canada! That happening is absolutely the ultimate drag race event in the World! Heavy trucks with loaded trailers are drag racing up hill from standing still start! The B-train combos gross weight 63 500kg (about 146 000lbs)!!!

I was there with my good friends Lee Howard from Inferno Kustom Werks and Juuso "Rebel" Lehtinen. Juuso was racing at the toughest class on B-trains, 500+ hp and I was his Mechanic. It was his/my first time ever to race up there. And even tough he had alittle under powered engine putting out only 700hp's we managed to win one race!!!

This summer have been great for me and my truck. I have won total of 8 trophys from different shows this summer. Just to mention few of them: 1st place from HC Truck Meet 2008 from Sweden at US Truck Class; 3rd place at Overal Interior Class from Power Truck Show 2008 and Special Honor Award by Mikko Nukala from Power Truck Show 2008 as well.

Few pictures from the trip over to Sweden at HC Truck meet 2008! Trip went great and I was honered to win 1st price in US Truck Class! On our way down there we visited also at Scania factory at Södertälje. We went over from Finland to Sweden in one of the World biggest car/truck ferries. The ferry trip over the sea took 8h. Total length for the trip was 1900km (1190miles). We met meny great guys on our trip and saw meny cool trucks. Hope to meet you guys soon again! 10-4!

Stainless 5th Wheel Cover!

Here's stainless steel 5th wheel cover I made! Looks cool ain't it!!! Also two pics of DAF tractor that was involved with road accident and neeted to be reflamed. What made this work challenging was the original flames were painted by different artist. So I had to imitate his style and colors. Outlines are hand painted with brush.

New look of rear of the cab looks like this. I fabricated dog house opening cover from stainless steel and placed "silicone babe" cut outs on it with red LED lights behind on them. Looking so hot in the dark. Blue LED's are placed under the cab to lite up the frame behind the front wheels. It's all about details!!!

KENWORTH K100E: As a side project I painted classic hot rod flames to this hard working girl. Put on some stainless on her too and few other things like custom made stainless rear light bar. More stainless will be add soon. The Peterbilt 379 on the back ground is also under work. She will get new paint on all over and some stainless accents as well.

Pt Cruiser: Owner of this cool PT Cruiser wanted to get nice ol'skool flames to his ride too. And no wonder why b/c he's the journalist of national hot rod and custom magazine called V8 Magazine. I did the flame job, put on new billet grilles, custom tail lights to the rear bumber, chrome bezels to the lights and put visor on. Basic paintjob and clear coating was made by Autoehoste Kaskinen Oy (http://www.autoehoste.fi/).

More Interior!

Interior is almost done! Only few small details to go, for exsample blue LED's to light up the flames above the sleeper opening, paint the C.B. to mach, few dash indication lights etc. Please notice that the panel above the windshield is stainless (made in house) not painted red as it looks like. And the plastic piece above it where the CD player is ain't black it's painted to mach the dash. Engine project starts up at next week, so keep on tune!

Tom's Project Pete 379

Here's few pics from my good friend Tom's Peterbilt 379 project. Tom has been restoring the truck piece by piece for few years and already he has won meny trophys with it. Great job, man! Now Tom have started working on with the enginebay and front part of the frame. The new color on firewal gives a hint for the up coming new color of the truck. Tom have promised to keep us posted with the progress of the project. So keep checking us out. 10-4!

Picked up the seats from upholstery today. The guy did them based on my drawing from materials I purchased from local shop. I like the out come very much! Note the nice flame design also. It's hard to believe thise are the same old seats.

3D flame test!

I tested how to paint 3D flames to cover of small car fridge (size about 35cm x 20cm (13,5" x 8")). All went quite nice until at half point of the work I spilled two drops of light blue on it =(.

Some progress!

Some progress of the twin stick project. Stix are made from stanless steel and the second stick will be bend to mach the front one. Gotta admit this have been harder to do than I expected. The main issue has been the very limited space b/c of the size of the opening in the floor where the stix go out when tilting the cab. As you notice almost everything has been taken out from the cab. Dash and other pieces will be painted to mach the exterior. Hope to get on that soon. Also small improvenment to sound system wil be done.

Here is latest up-date to my truck. I fabricated the stainless light panel on top of the stack bracket cross member. During the winter the whole interior will be re-done and hopefully the engine will have few extra hp's as well. Maybe even alu rims at the back too.
